We went snorkeling one day and we went down by the Hotel Garrafon rather than the park. Admission was so reasonable and rental of gear as well. We saw many many fish and were completely satisfied. There was a small beach to lay out at, showers, lockers and snack bar. I have a tendency to get "seasick" so I was perfectly content being right there. It was a gorgeous day. We also went to the turtle farm and I must say that was very cool!! Also visited Villa's Rolandi's and WOW WHAT A PLACE!!!!!!!!! One of these days I want to stay there for just a night or so. The grounds and pool area are so beautiful. The lobby was beautiful all open. We also went up to Punta Sur and it has changed completely. Garrafon now owns all of that and are expanding, the view is still amazing and peaceful. One night we went to Casa O's for dinner, the place is gorgeous!!! Food was good. Ok now for eating we ate at some of our usuals and then tried some new ones. I must say everyone needs to try Chili Loco's..Jorge has the most wonderful personality and his food is to die for. I had coconut shrimp and it was simply yuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmy!! Amigo's is out of this world as always. My husband had a filet with Bleu Cheese and oh my gosh!!! I had shrimp with garlic that was to die for. Red Snapper for pizza it was the best pizza I think I've ever had. Fredy's for tortilla soup, lobster kabob. Fredy's is always a must for us it's a great place to eat. Angelo's for pasta. The Carribean for steak, lobster, shrimp, fish. Wonderful atmosphere service was great. The teahouse has great desserts. The restaurant at Posada was really a great breakfast place, Francis Bistro, M&J's, Jax, Sunset Grill, Nopal's, Loncheria Alexis & Giovanni's by the mercado. Everywhere was wonderful, each place has something wonderful. The weather was nice the second week with sun by high winds. We took our laundry to Angel's a couple of times and were pleased both times.
My shopping took place at Hortensia's and the mercado behind the Loncheria. Of course went the SuperExpress no trip is complete without those nice hot rolls. :o)
Again I had a wonderful time and my husband is now a convert. It was so great seeing my friends that were old and the new ones I have made. I can't wait to get back to my home away from home soon. It is my piece of heaven on earth. aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh Isla Mujeres!!!! What a place
